The Ace Academy

Adrian Bailey MP visits ACE

On Friday 20th October 2017, Adrian Bailey Labour MP for West Bromwich visited The ACE Academy .

Adrian initially met with a group of Sixth Formers studying Law and they discussed the processes involved in passing a new law.

He then talked with students from Years 7 and 8  who are currently learning about political systems in Britain.  He explained how he became a politician,  what his current role involves and the Labour Party’s priorities for the next election.

The group asked many questions including his thoughts on Theresa May and the Conservative Party; whether he believes individuals who attended an inner city comprehensive are disadvantaged when entering into politics compared to those who attended a private school; whether the voting age should be lowered to 16 and should prisoners should have the right to vote.

The students found the experience very interesting and informative and Adrian was very impressed with their level of questioning and maturity.
