Interim Headteacher's Letter - September 2017
My name is Mr Hearne, I am the Interim Headteacher at The ACE Academy and am looking forward to working with everyone during this academic year.
I have been the successful Headteacher of a number of academies and schools since 1997, including Inner and Outer London, Northumberland and Norfolk. All of these showed improved exam results in a very short period of time.
I have also worked as a School Improvement Adviser for Kent County Council.
Our focus for this year is to continue to improve the experience of our students; building on the excellent work that was undertaken last year. This should lead to even better results for students in Year 11 and the Sixth Form.
I would like to welcome our new Year 7s to life at The ACE Academy and thank parents for trusting their education to us. When I spoke with the students in assembly on Wednesday morning they all looked very smart and ready to begin their journey with us. I have seen them in lessons, spoken to a number around school and found them to be polite and keen. These are both important attributes that we all need to keep alive in them.
If you have any concerns as a parent, please do not hesitate to contact your son/daughter’s Form Tutor.
Very well done to the new Year 12 students on their GCSE results and welcome to the Sixth Form. I have to say, they too, looked very smart in their new business dress; great role models for the younger students.
Congratulations to last year’s Sixth Form leavers, who achieved fabulous results in their summer examinations - 100% pass rate! All the students who wanted to go to university gained a place. A great success story all round!
Finally, a warm welcome to the new staff who have joined us this year. I know that a lot of time was spent at the end of last term ensuring we had the best possible staff for the students here at The ACE Academy.
I am looking forward to working with everyone in developing our students to become fully committed future citizens of their communities and helping them to achieve the best results they can.
Look out for Weekly News updates highlighting the achievements of our students!
